Macramé is the knotting technique that involves decoratively making knots. These are currently in news due to the macramé dresses in fashion. However, macramé are all-time favorites of children, teens, and young girls. You can also learn to make bracelets with the macramé technique and gift them to your close ones. Macramé technique uses several decorations, usually beads, which are famous fashion accessories. You can also make adjustable bracelets in a wide variety of designs. These adjustable bracelets have one end to make them easy to adjust. To avoid unraveling, tie knot, bead, or dab it with glue. Some of these types of bracelets use overlapping cords which form double cords on the back of non –decorated string bracelets.
Beads – The beads used in macramé come in different sizes and shapes. Their selection depends upon the patterns, as in some, the holes in beads should be large enough to let it pass through the two strands. For a cord that is 4mm in thickness, the hole opening should be 8mm wide.
Beading techniques- Add a bead in the cord thread through the opening in the bead. Make a barrel knot tightly and pass it through the hole of the bead. However, ensure that the bead does not slide through the knot. If it slips easily through the knot, then tie the knot in some different style which can be a button knot and any other. Then leave some cord after the bead. Cut it down close to the bead ending and dab it with glue. On the other hand, if the hole is too narrow to allow two cords to pass through the opening, then pass a single cord only, cut out the left portion and apply glue.
To make macramé beaded bracelets is a simple task as non-crafty people can even learn them very easily. You can make your collection and sell them as it would be a good option to earn income.
